A Sense of Sunlight

By Dilson Hernandez

The scent of summer air revives cold stone faces into pebbled beaches once again.
Sun-rays of bliss and a botanical beam of red stars
finally sweep the skies in anticipation for the new season.

Can you hear it? Can you feel it?
A cocoon consumed buzz chasing the light at the end of a tunnel.
A sunshine of rainbows lifting eyelids from its dreaded resting place.

Can you taste it?
The reminiscent zest and joy spurred from an ice cream cone served on a park bench

Isn’t it lovely?

The day is over. The night has come.
Yet still, people smile at the never-ending sunset.
