The days eye

By Terrik Kobryn

Long after every petal from every oxeye daisy has been stripped in wishes for lovers embrace.

Life will be beautiful.

Long after the goodbyes from every lovers romance have faded in the tune of a another’s hello.

Life will be beautiful.

Long after the heads of every dreamer has been shaven till nothing is left to wash but their scalp and their brain.

Life will be beautiful.

And as the last drop of blood from every soldier falls from a battle

Long, Afterlife will be beautiful.

Long after the money garnered from men's souls has burned.

Long after the jungles and deserts have once again returned to skyscrapers and sidewalks.

Long after a lover’s tune is heard yet again.

Life will be beautiful.

When your slumber has been ceased by a haze of lead and flame that has surrounded your bed.

Not long after, Life will be beautiful.

Long after the aisle has been walked and the threshold has been crossed.

Long after the children’s feet have grown from pitter-patter approaching to marching away.

Long after the same petals have been stripped from the same oxeye daisies by the innocent hands that used to be yours.

Long after your pleas are ignored and your beloved children wish to follow the same path that lead your mind to ruin.

Life will be beautiful.

And when the oxeye daisies have turned to lilies thrown atop a blanket of dirt your child now lies under.

After long, life will be beautiful.

Long after the prophets, poets, killers and kings have had their way.

Life will be beautiful.

Long after your children and theirs have all fallen prey to the everlasting cycle.

Life will be beautiful.

And long, long after you, yes you too have been buried along with your memories.

Life, will always be beautiful.
