By Elena Pollack

A shadow flies across the street,

Another stands, waiting to meet.

Together they run into the night,

Shadows together, outlaws in flight.

The sun appears on a distant land,

And there I see Orion's hand.

He stretches his arm and touches the dawn,

But both alley cats have already gone.

Down the road and out of sight,

'Til dawn meets the day by ray's first light.
