The Summer I Had jesus

By Naomi McPeters

The summer I had Jesus, Jake Baxter plunged down a waterfall and died, his body swept downriver and

not found until 2 days later.

I plunged into a type of grief that shattered my bones though I hadn't known him all that well.  I found a

classroom to cry in and there, God met me. God was all I had. I didn't want anything else.

The summer I had Jesus I had my bad days but every day I met with Him in the morning. Every day I

faced with Him behind me, Him before me.

The summer I had Jesus I cast all burdens aside.

The summer I had Jesus I was completely, wholly, alive.

That summer, I tried.

Now, I wonder if He died.

Or if I did.
