You say you need a wall for protection

To help you feel safe and warm

To keep those only seeking a better life

A life paved by blood and tears

Alienated by their peers

Because of the color of their skin

And the lack of a mere paper

You say this wall will surely keep out

Those same people who have died

Trying to get here whether by

Land, Sea, or Air

So go ahead build this magnificent wall

Just don’t be surprised when it proves useless

And comes crumbling down
